Meet the Cast: Staged Reading

We’re excited to introduce the cast for our upcoming JASPER The Musical staged reading, showcasing Act I of this edgy new Australian work.

Meet the cast

Demi McFarlane

Demi McFarlane graduated with an Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts from ED5 International in 2017. She is trained in AMEB classical voice as well as various styles of dance and acting for stage and screen. Demi has previously appeared in a variety of musical productions including West Side Story, A Chorus Line and Heathers.

Chris Rutter

Chris Rutter recently graduated from the Australian Institute of Music with a Bachelor of Music (Music Theatre). He has performed in lead or key roles in numerous musical theatre productions, including Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Freaky Friday and the pantomime Aladdin.

Sarah Cherlin

Sarah Cherlin is a Sydney-based classically trained soprano with musical theatre experience and training. A versatile performer, Sarah is also active in the contemporary music world as a folk-pop singer-songwriter.

John Thomas

John Thomas completed a Diploma of Musical Theatre studies at the National Institute of Performing Arts (NIDA) in 2021. He has performed roles in both plays and musical theatre, most prominently in Picnic, Ice Cream/Hot Fudge, The Drowsy Chaperone, Legally Blonde and Rock of Ages.

Dáin Watts

Dáin Watts is rock tenor with a passion for music theatre. A graduate with a diploma in Music Theatre from NIDA, when not fronting his rock band he is actively performing in staged works. His most recent roles include Sky in Mamma Mia, Drew in Rock of Ages and Khashoggi in We Will Rock You.

Tisha Kelemen

Tisha Kelemen is an Indonesian-born, Sydney-based soprano who has appeared in numerous musical theatre productions across Sydney. Role highlights include Guido’s Mama in Nine and George’s Mother in Sunday in The Park with George, both for Little Triangle Productions.

Martin Everett

Martin Everett is a versatile actor who has appeared in plays, music theatre and films. Since graduating from the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) with a Bachelor of Music – Music Theatre, he has been active in numerous professional and musical society productions. Most recently, he performed the roles of Charlie Price in Kinky Boots and Steve Hart/Young Ned in Ned: A New Australian Musical.

Paul Adderley

Paul Adderley has been immersed in Community and Pro-Am theatre since 2011. He has performed in over 35 shows, playing roles such as The Lecturer in Reefer Madness, Carl Hanratty in Catch Me If You Can, Fagin in Oliver! and Alfred P. Doolittle in My Fair Lady.

Brea Holland

Brea Holland is currently studying classical voice at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and has trained in musical theatre, jazz and pop, as well as dance. A versatile performer, Brea has toured in productions such as Footloose and Seussical and appeared in live televised solo performances and cabarets.

Denzel Bruhn

Denzel Bruhn graduated from the Western Australian of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and is now studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He has worked extensively in music theatre with productions including the King of Hearts in Alice’s Adventures, Captain John Thomas in Bakery Hill and the Dance Captain in 3 Weeks in Spring at the State Theatre.

Lincoln Elliot

Lincoln Elliott is a NIDA Musical Theatre graduate and a multi-instrumentalist with a Bachelor of Music (Hons) from the University of New England. Born in Dubbo, Lincoln is proudly of Wiradjuri descent. His upcoming shows include Squabbalogic’s On A Clear Day You Can See Forever and a workshop production of a new musical, Alice’s Adventures.

Alex Gonzalez

Alex Gonzalez graduated from Brent Street with a Diploma of Musical Theatre in 2019. Alex’s theatre credits include: Girl Shut Your Mouth, 1984: The Musical, Damn Yankees, The Drowsy Chaperone and Inner West Side. Alex also choreographed for Slanted Theatre’s Ching Chong Chinaman, Rossum’s Universal Robots for NUTS.
